Comments

This is an informative, well-structured and well-referenced article that will need few adjustments to reach GA standard. I therefore have only a few small comments to make.

• Please wikilink Augustinian nuns.

• Please link mullion, brewhouse, bakehouse, photography in lead section.

• Suggest linking Roundhead and Cavalier for Parliamentary and Royalist sides in the civil war, too, for non-Brits.

• It might be worth noting in the lead image caption that the window that Fox Talbot photographed is above the door.

• You might like to link some architectural terms in the text, such as cloister, balustrade, parapet, belvedere.

• Consider linking period terms like Medieval and Tudor.

• Mousetrap camera might need a gloss or wikilink.

• The balance between Harry Potter and all the other films looks slightly wrong. Perhaps the section should consist of a single paragraph, with a little more detail on the other films. For example, you might like to name and link Philippa Gregory, who wrote The Other Boleyn Girl, and the directors of the named films. Jane Austen and Hilary Mantel might also be mentioned.

• "During four days in October" and "the sixth" perhaps constitute overmuch detail.

• The Half-Blood Prince sentence could be better phrased: it might begin "Some scenes in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were filmed ..."

• Moll Flanders should be linked. You might like to name and link its author, Daniel Defoe, and give the book's date, 1772 also.

• The Wolfman should be in italics.

• Authorlink William Lisle Bowles.

Thank you for taking on this review. I have added a lot of wikilinks, including the ones you mentioned above, and have generally acted on your suggestions. The main exception is the authorlink for William Lisle Bowles, because I did not know what was required and how to go about it. Perhaps you could demonstrate! Too many Lacocks?

Is there a particular reason to have two pages on Lacock Abbey? Granted, it would be quite a big page if they were merged, although some of the monastic history could be condensed. Katiehawks (talk) 09:16, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

I can only see one article about the abbey. There is a separate article about the vilage of Lacock if that is what you are referring to. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:23, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

The articles are Lacock Abbey (monastery) which came to an abrupt end in 1539, and Lacock Abbey, the same building developed into a country house. In my view the articles are big enough to remain separate. Wire723 (talk) 16:15, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Hadn't realised there was a separate article about the pre-dissolution history. Having looked at the two articles I agree they are probably better as they are. A combined article would be very long. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:26, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
