Discussion Webb 2-4-0T Class

[edit]

Currently there is a (recently created by me) redirect LNWR Chopper Tank Class to this article (printworthy and with possibilities and categories) about the related 2-4-0T chopper class and some tweaks to this article to avoid WP:SURPRISE. Not central to this discussion I have also created the re-direct (to section, printworthy, with possibilities) DWWR 59 which covers the 6 locomotives that were converted and re-gauged from "chopper" 2-4-0Ts to 2-4-2Ts for the DW&WR as cited in the article). Some good faith concerns seem to be raised and I expect to support reasonable decisions reached by consensus. For practical purposes I have no access to LNWR resources. Issues arising are.

  • The name LNWR Chopper Tank Class is inappropriate and should be replaced by something better. (I am happy to support a consensus on something better) and assist in renaming the redirect.
  • That the 2-4-0T should be developed into a separate article (e.g. by transforming the redirect to an article).
  • I will support a separate article if someone wishes to do it providing the DWWR content is also managed. I don't have access to the required LNWR sources though.
  • It is just possible there may be need to rename this article if LNWR 4ft 6in tank can refer to both the 2-4-0T as well as the 2-4-2T. (I simply don't know).

I raise this as a discussion ... not as a proposal (in essence I am not volunteering to do any work ... ). Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 15:15, 7 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
