incomprehensible
[edit]First, wood has historically been a principal building material of many northern Ontario indigenous peoples, and the aim of providing a culturally relevant building influenced the selection of wood and other material components on this project.[1]
References
is paraphrased as "As well, the selection of mass timber construction was dedicated by the embedded history of northern Ontario Indigenous peoples and sustainability." I supposed the writer meant "dictated by" in stead of "dedicated by", but even then, it still doesn't make sense. May I suggest: "The reasons behind the decision to use mass timber construction were threefold: Making the building culturally relevant by using a material used by northern Ontario indigenous peoples, supporting the mandate to embed indigenous perspective into the curriculum and showcasing engineered wood products". "primarily... but also"
[edit]Does this wording in the lead imply that the sentence is also describing non-primary work types as well? If so, is the mention of those latter types necessary? If they are necessary, the sentence could be simplified. If they are not significant, why are those types mentioned in the first place? Ash.tahno (talk) 16:53, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
Typo in reference section
[edit]Found a typo in the title for reference 5. Currently reads "Changing the rules to do the right thing for Toronto's homeless". Should be "... the right thing...". I can't seem to figure out how to edit this to repair it. Octalinenexus (talk) 19:41, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- Correction: title currently reads "Changing the rules to do the right think for Toronto's homeless" Octalinenexus (talk) 19:42, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
Wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner warning
[edit]Can we remove the warning now? I fixed the article. Julien Casey (talk) 22:50, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Cleanup (February 2026)
[edit]Removed peacock tag after neutralizing promotional language in the lead. Specific changes:
- Replaced quoted self-descriptions from the firm's website with neutral factual language, addressing the concerns raised by Ash.tahno in the lead wording discussion and by Julien Casey in the peacock tag discussion
- Fixed typo in reference 5 ("think" → "thing") as reported by Octalinenexus in the typo discussion
- Tightened McEwen School CLT wording for clarity, related to Vexations's concern in the incomprehensible wording discussion
- Cleaned external links section (removed inline ref tags per WP:ELNO)
- Replaced
<references />with{{Reflist}} - Added
{{Use dmy dates}}(Canadian subject)
Remaining work (B-class path)
[edit]- Lead still cites the firm's own website (lga-ap.com/housing/) for portfolio claims — replace with independent source
- Awards section could be expanded with specific project awards and years
- Article lacks a History/Background section covering the firm's evolution from Levitt Goodman Architects
- Several external links point to search result pages rather than specific articles — consider replacing with direct links or removing
