For the correct history of the kneeboard please go to http://www.usawaterski.org/pages/divisions/kneeboard/KneeboardHistory.htm The bellyboard (Boogie Board) for surfing was developed independently from the kneeboard. The skurfer was the original wake surfing board other than using a standard surfboard.
The person considered the "father" of the kneeboard is Danny Churchill.
