I am Karl Stiefvater, the subject of this article, and I have a conflict of interest. I prepared and submitted this draft myself, consistent with WP:COI and WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY. I have tried to write neutrally, to cite independent reliable sources for all substantive claims, and to use my own website only for uncontroversial facts about myself (birth date, upbringing, employers) per WP:ABOUTSELF.
