I can find no reference Charles de Gaulle becoming Prime Minister on June 3 1944 (excepting copies of this Wikipedia article). It seems rather unlikely, three days before D-day and with the Vichy government still effectively in power. There is a reference to him becoming Prime Minister designate on June 1 1958 (he may have been confirmed a few days later). If anyone has genuine references for this it would be good to see them; otherwise it's a little embarrassing to have something wrong on our front page. DJ Clayworth 19:45, 3 Jun 2004 (UTC)

National Doughnut Day

[edit]

The US "holiday" of national doughnut day is actually celebrated as the first Friday in June. In 2005, that was June 3. In 2006, it is June 2.

This trivial observance isn't important enough to be listed on a Day article. Jim Michael (talk) 09:10, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Vladimirskaya (Russian Orthodox)

[edit]

The article linked to for this "Holidays and observances" states her feast is June 23. Is that wrong or is she here wrongly? The numbers are close....--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 02:02, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup of births and deaths

[edit]

In accordance with the guidelines, I'm continuing to weed the Births and Deaths sections by removing entries for celebrities with 0-4 articles in other languages. Where possible, these have been transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles. As well as making the lists more manageable, this will help with the globalization effort.Deb (talk) 17:56, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please, under the 'Births' section of the page, add the Turkish chess grandmaster Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus at the end - he is born in 2011, 3rd of June. Thanks! Urlocalmonke123 (talk) 12:31, 22 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
