Adding updates to my oage

[edit]

I would like to add several missing items to the page about me, but I’m not sure how to annotate them. I would appreciate assistance.

Hi Judy45. It is never appropriate to add to your own article or any article about your work or your press, as this is a conflict of interest. However, you can add information on this talk page. LoveElectronicLiterature (talk) 15:08, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
So if significant information is missing from my page, such as my most important book of translations, what do I do about it? do I have to hire a ghostwriter? I have no idea who was kind enough to write an article about me, or about Mayapple Press, but I’ve thought for years that I should be in Wikipedia. And there should be an article about Earth’s Daughters, since it is the oldest feminist arts magazine still publishing. But of course, I can’t write it since I’m the founder. If I remember right, sometime in the past, there was a discussion about the underrepresentation of women in Wikipedia. Might I suggest that women are much less likely to enlist the help of a friend to promote themselves than men are? Judyk45 (talk) 16:31, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry to be snarky. I really don’t know how the system works. Should I post a note here with the things that are missing from my article? Without going down a techie rabbit hole, it’s really hard to know how this system works!Judyk45 (talk) 16:32, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Exactly. You can post here. Make sure you include the URLs or ISBNs for citations. However, I am very aware of the disparity for women, which is why your page is part of the overall task force for Women Electronic Literature Writers in Wikipedia and the Electronic Literature Writers Project. It might be best to go to our project page at WP:ELIT, go to the Talk there, and post the note about what is missing for our editors to work on. Also, we would love for you to be a part of our monthly editathons on the Third Thursday at 3 PM UTC (zoom link is on the page) to learn how the system works.
Another thing to do now is click on your red name, Judy45. Then add who you are there and a conflict of interest (COI) box JUST about Judy Kerman. Click on my blue name (LoveElectronicLiterature) to see my example of my user description and my COI box.
It is never ok for a friend to help promote on Wikipedia. Not for men or women. Wikipedia is designed to provide publicly available, notable sources, as an online encyclopedia. Yes, I know things happen, but we should all strive to provide the best and most objective articles possible.
Thanks for your interest in making Wikipedia a great source of information. LoveElectronicLiterature (talk) 11:59, 20 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I did create this article for Judith Kerman as part of our task force, and this morning, I created an article for Earth's Daughters. If you are not connected with this magazine, you can edit that article, as I put in the bare bones. You always need a citation for every fact. Sorry! I did just reread that you are the founder of Earth's Daughters. I did not find that information in a citation. DO NOT edit the article for Earth's Daughters as that would be a COI. Again, you can put reliable citations ONLY in the Talk page of that article! LoveElectronicLiterature (talk) 12:36, 20 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
