Judge Turpin Date of Birth

[edit]

What is the source that is being used for this claim of a DOB of 1792 for the character of Judge Turpin? It is nowhere in the play, and I seriously doubt it's in the original story as it is set in 1785. I think it's ridiculous we have a picture of a middle-aged man in late 18th century dress over a box with his DOB given as 1792. 12.40.5.69 (talk) 16:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Summary

[edit]

The section "In Sweeney Todd" has the Judge's story in the movie version. Please change it so it shows the Judge's story in the stage version. Ryanmalik01 (talk) 15:28, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed blank and redirect

[edit]

This does not meet WP:GNG and the only significant coverage I can find is a paragraph in a JSTOR paper (, page 213). However, that's about the differences between the stage and film versions of the character and would fit better into the article on the film. Therefore blanking and redirecting this to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street seems meet. CohenTheBohemian (talk) 16:32, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
