The Money He Earned From the Industry
[edit]Does anyone know whether he gave back the $1.1 million he earned from the industry? It’s a valid piece of information to include in the article.Les Whinin (talk) 20:04, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- I can't imagine he would "give back" money he earned. I don't know how it would be a "valid piece of information" if he didn't. He probably spent it on life expenses, moving back to Carolina, buying a house, wedding, etc. EytanMelech (talk) 00:48, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- It’s valid because he’s essentially saying that he was wrong to work in the pornographic industry, given that he believes now that the pornography industry is bad. Therefore, if he consciously chooses to withhold the money he made working in an industry he himself considers vile, then he’s a hypocrite.Les Whinin (talk) 02:17, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but I think that would fall under W:ORIGINAL since that is information you are synthesizing yourself. EytanMelech (talk) 02:19, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

- I think we can agree, even if we agree on little else, that I wouldn’t be the sole person drawing such a conclusion about this individual. However, given that such a point does fall within the realm of W:ORIGINAL, I will relent on it here. Nevertheless, the issue was worth raising even it was going to be dismissed justifiably.Les Whinin (talk) 02:48, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
Request for restructuring for neutrality and balance

Request for restructuring for balance and clarity
[edit]Hi editors,
I’m a regular listener to Joshua Broome’s podcast and I recently came across this article. I’d like to propose some restructuring for neutrality and tone — per WP:BLP and WP:UNDUE — to better reflect the balance of his life and not overemphasize his past in adult film.
- Suggested Changes:
1. Move all adult film-related content (awards, film list, former relationship) into a separate "Early Life and Career" section, instead of leading the article with it. 2. Add a new section like "Ministry and Personal Life" or "Christian Ministry" — including reliable sources that cover his pastoral work, testimony, and podcast ministry. 3. Remove unnecessary external links that may promote adult content, per WP:BLP and WP:EL guidelines.
I understand Wikipedia's goal is neutrality, not erasure — I'm not suggesting hiding his past, just ensuring it's framed properly alongside his current identity.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Request to revise tone in early biography section

Request to revise tone in early biography section
[edit]Hi editors,
As part of improving neutrality and tone in the article on Joshua Broome, I’d like to propose the following revision to this current paragraph:
- Current:**
> "Broome and his younger brother were raised by their mother, who was divorced from their father. When he was 15, he pursued modelling, and moved to Los Angeles as an adult in an attempt to become an actor. He was offered a job as an adult film star, and began doing shoots."
- Proposed:**
> "Broome and his younger brother were raised by their mother following their parents' divorce. At age 15, he began pursuing modeling, and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. During that time, he was offered work in the adult entertainment industry and began appearing in films."
- Reasoning:**
This change maintains factual accuracy while using more neutral and encyclopedic language in line with WP:TONE and WP:BLP. The proposed phrasing avoids sensationalism and improves clarity, particularly for readers unfamiliar with his full background.
Thanks for your consideration!

Suggestion: Summarize award listings for tone and relevance
[edit]Hi editors,
I’d like to propose summarizing the current list of adult film industry awards under a more general sentence like:
> “During his time in the adult film industry, Broome received multiple award nominations, including recognition as a performer and supporting actor.”
This keeps the article factual and sourced, while helping tone down the level of detail around a past that no longer represents his public life. It also aligns better with WP:BLP and avoids unnecessary prominence of adult industry content.
Thank you for considering! ~~~~ Advocate1993 (talk) 23:55, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
