Nationality and Period

[edit]

She was born in Austria, outside of Vienna, making her Austrian. I would have to say also that her career bridges the Classical and Romantic periods, because she was in an opera from Beethoven's middle/late period. 70.101.160.105 12:22, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

No need to revert your contribution--in fact, fixing "Viennese" was a good idea. Opus33 17:38, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spelling of name

[edit]

After 1797 Josepha Hofer always signed her name Josepha Meier. The sources are unanimous on this.--Suessmayr (talk) 20:32, 27 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello Suessmayr, it would be a courtesy to our readers (and conform to WP policy) if you would add a footnote listing at least one of your sources. Please don't abbreviate the sigilla. Thanks very much, Opus33 (talk) 20:34, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hofer's job

[edit]

"Hofer was employed as of 1789 as a violinist at the Imperial court."? This is false. Hofer already was a court employee at the time of his marriage in 1788.--Suessmayr (talk) 08:02, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
