Conflict of interest declaration

Notability under WP:NPROF criterion 1

Resubmitting on the basis of WP:NPROF criterion 1 rather than WP:GNG. Heled's Google Scholar record shows 21,517 total citations, 9,943 of them since 2021. Heled & Drummond (2010), which introduced *BEAST, has 2,868 citations; he is second author on the BEAST 2 paper (7,546 citations); Heled & Drummond (2008) has 859; Heled & Drummond (2012) has 355; Bouckaert & Heled (2014) has 256; Heled & Bouckaert (2013) has 218. Several of these are among the most-cited methodological papers in Bayesian phylogenetics, and *BEAST founded the literature on species tree inference under the multispecies coalescent. NPROF C1 does not require significant independent coverage of the person; demonstrable citation impact in high-quality journals is the evidence, and it is unambiguous here. The draft now also cites independent secondary source: Jiao, Flouri & Yang (2021) in National Science Review, which identifies *BEAST and BPP as the two Bayesian multispecies-coalescent programs in common use. The authors have no connection to the subject. The draft has also been completely rewritten to remove the CV-style structure and unsourced characterisations noted in the previous decline.
