Mount Everest summit 1988
[edit]The article currently says "He climbed Mount Everest solo..." The Australian Museum website linked to on the page says "Although attached to the Australian Bicentennial Everest Expedition, Jon had climbed without Sherpa support – a first for any Westerner." I doubt that this would be viewed as a 'solo' ascent by any mountaineer and I would think that this could be more accurately stated by using a form of words closer to that of the Australian Museum page. I'm sure Jon would never call this ascent 'solo'.
There is a written account of the expedition and its title also attests to the method of ascent: White sherpas : reaching the top with the Australian Bicentennial Everest Expedition, Patrick Cullinan, SC, OAM, Barrallier Books Pty Ltd, 2013, 9780987586490 (ISBN) Natigoat (talk) 03:13, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
