Death date

Hi! I notice that there's a citation to "NUMBER 96: Australia's Most Notorious Address" for a year of death of 1985. IMDb (unreliable I know) also has 1985. I did some Google searching and found a semi-obituary in The Stage that implies a different year. From the Thursday 05 February 1987 issue (which does require either a trial or paid account to see.):

JOHNNY WHYTE, the writer, died on November 19th at the age of 61.

which would imply a 1986 year of death. I can't easily find any images of NUMBER 96. Anything else people know/can find would be helpful.

Also apparently born in Ilkley, according to that article.
