Danver's death

[edit]

Great work so far. I note in the article we say he died in 1954 aged 94 and give the source as being from his probate record (which we're unable to view). I doubt this is this Johnny Danvers because in a newspaper article from 3 April 1939, the Sunderland Echo and Shipping Gazette say that Danvers died in Brixton aged 68, that year. I know this is him because they describe him as being "a Yorkshireman and the uncle of Dan Leno, although only being a month older". CassiantoTalk 08:37, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that and duly amended. I thought the later date a bit unlikely and as I had two widely differing dates I put 1939/1954?? at the top. Thanks for the info. Dreamspy (talk) 08:46, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Confusingly, the paper gives his death age as 68, which if we're saying he was born in 1860, is incorrect. Have a look here and if you need me to look at anything, I happily will. I can also send you the snippets via email, if you'd like to see them. CassiantoTalk 08:49, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
That would be very helpful. Many thanks. Jack1956 (talk) 10:18, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
