There is no evidence that John Churcher was John Thurber. Thurber family was originally from Lincoln England and lived in Rhode Island, Swansea and port of Bristol. Family came to RI in about 1663, birth and death dates are accurate. Churcher was from Southern England and New York was his port. Also no evidence that Thurber was slaver or pirate, Thurber was a merchant to China and possibly India, his ships were wrong type for slaver, although could be pirate ship types. 2600:4040:B5E2:A500:285D:20E2:AF52:F50B (talk) 13:59, 22 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
