Concerns about birth date accuracy

I must express my deep concern regarding the birth date discrepancy in John Njue's article. The current date (1946) appears to be a later modification by Vatican sources. Through the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, it is clearly documentable that the Vatican's own website displayed 1944 as the birth year for several years. I provided this correction with the precise Web Archive link here, but my edit was reverted on the same day.

This raises serious questions about Wikipedia's reliability and our commitment to historical accuracy. The original, documented birth year should not be overwritten simply because it was later modified in the source. No official platforms show a mistyped birth date, not noticed for years. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed by the community, as it appears to be a case of retrospective date modification rather than a correction of an error.
