Japanese house bat → Japanese pipistrelle – First, "Japanese pipistrelle" is the name used in multiple reliable sources.
- MSW3→Japanese Pipistrelle
- Mammal Diversity Database→Japanese Pipistrelle
- Batnames→Japanese Pipistrelle
- IUCN Red List→Japanese Pipistrelle
Second, this n-gram shows that since 2000, the name "Japanese pipistrelle" has consistently been used more frequently than "Japanese house bat".
Third, with the exception of this species, the names of all species in the genus Alionoctula include "pipistrelle"; only this species doesn't. コロネン (talk) 06:15, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
