References to a relationship with a ‘mulatto’

[edit]

The wording is insensitive also in the Dutch Wikipedia entry. The woman in question -Helena Correa - was enslaved and was passed to Valckenburgh by her previous owner when he purchased the Elmina castle. She was therefore an enslaved woman with no agency and this was not a ‘relationship’ it was rape. The article itself does not acknowledge the extent of Valckenburghs trading of enslaved people. The original source material is over 20 years old and has not aged well. 2A02:A44C:F707:1:7DBE:8B8:C6E5:C9AC (talk) 17:01, 17 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
