The "Master"?
[edit]Is the use of this term to refer to Freud really an example of unbiased information-giving?Historian932 (talk) 23:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Section on controvery about (over)scientizing Freud
[edit]Should be at least a small section on this, will try to get to it myself when I have some more time.Historian932 (talk) 23:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
No Citation
[edit]This article has little to no citation and considering the scholarship surrounding the problems of translation by Strachey, I don't take this biography seriously at all. Someone needs to rework with more references. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.89.212.107 (talk) 13:14, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Ongoing page overhaul. Future plans.
[edit]Hello all. I'm working on this article and since my changes will be extensive wanted to acknowledge this publicly here.
General Remarks
The quality of this article has been quite poor until recently, especially in the biography section. There was a lot of information, some of which was good, but the biography had almost zero citations. I've tracked down references for most of these but I'm still working on it. A more general issue at the moment is that a lot of the information is presented in a rather random and unstructured way. In other words the narrative of the article needs work but ideally I'll continue to rectify this.
Citation style changes There is only a handful of sources that detail this information so I have made the decision to begin using a new citation style. The existing uses sfv but since I am frequently reusing the same source and have the page numbers in front of me, I have begun switching everything over to a <ref> + {rp} style as I go through all this information and verify and update it.
I have accordingly removed the instructions at the top of the page that say to use sfv but I am new to some of these technical details and don't know how to replace these with one that says to use <ref> + {rp} yet.
I've added several new sources and encourage others to acquire a copy of them to contribute more information themselves.
Proposed move of a section to a new article Finally, I'm thinking about moving some of the 'controversy' of Strachey's Freud translation to the Standard Edition article. I think there's an official way to propose this but I'm still new to these aspects of Wikipedia so help would be appreciated on this and the previous heading.
