Jacques Chambrun
[edit]I'll upload all the document trail and citations later but he was most likely born in Beirut on April 24, 1906. Per his naturalization his original name was Djemy Tabib and he later used James Jabib.

New article on a disgraced (non-BLP) but fascinating literary agent whose New Yorker article I stumbled across while researching a Virginia Woolf story. This guy seems to have been absolutely everywhere; if this hook doesn't work for you there are many more colorful possibilities from that New Yorker article alone.

Chambrun
[edit]In the diaries from Thomas Mann 1940-1943 (Fischer, Frankfurt, 1982) Chambrun is mentioned. Mann drunk Tea with him in Pacific Palisades on 13. March 1942 (p. 404).
