He always worked and live on Long Island

[edit]

He always worked and lived in Long Island. His round-trip commute from a junior high school to his house was 79 miles. ~2025-39137-33 (talk) 15:46, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • From his 2010 interview with Wired:
  • It was nice, but Gordon wasn't about to give up his beloved P1800. He bought it after two Chevrolet Corvairs let him down.
"I had nothing but trouble with the first. I was a brand new schoolteacher, I started teaching in '62 and I needed a car that would take me 125 miles to work back and forth," he said.

  • Unless you have a better source than Gordon himself, the Wired interview will have to do. 5225C (talk  contributions) 15:53, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • We can't rely on a self-published document disputing the record, but if this dispute is eventually covered by reliable sources then it would definitely be relevant to the article. Until then it remains one person's speculation against existing verification from Guinness World Records and Volvo itself. 5225C (talk  contributions) 02:16, 10 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
