This is not an Old Norse name

[edit]

Irnes is not an Old Norse or Scandinavian name. While "eir", "ir" and "nes" can be found as name elements in Scandianvian names, they have not been combined to form the name Irnes. Unfortunately, this wikipedia page has influenced various webpages who rely on data crawling and user submissions. There are no credible sources that links this name to any Scandinavian language. I have removed all information about this name being Norse. Everything points to this being a name of South Slavic origin, perhaps Bosnian or Croatian?
