Inter vivos transfer

[edit]

This article covers inter vivos transfer as a substantive topic in law and economics, the lifetime gift as a legal act distinctions, its tax treatment across several countries, and the family-economics literature on transfer motives and wealth inequality. It is deliberately kept separate from the short Inter vivos page, which is a brief definitional entry disambiguating several unrelated senses of the Latin phrase (the general term, inter vivos trusts, and living organ donation) rather than treating the transfer itself in depth, so the two are complementary rather than overlapping. Worldwide View

[edit]

A banner was placed on the article stating the article may not reflect a world view. It was an appropriate tag and so I shortened tha article which had centered around the Australia, the United States and Britain, and then added sourced sections for different cultures. I am removing the banner as the article is not formatted in a way that people more familiar with the different global approach to inter vivos transfer can expand, but I did go back on forth on removing it as it can draw people to help. If you think the banner should be reinstalled, I have no argument with that. AnolderBloke (talk) 11:58, 26 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
