The ethnic identity of the Ingrian Finns is discussed in this Master's thesis: https://trepo.tuni.fi/handle/10024/147811 Although not a reliable source by itself, it can provide some references and ideas on how their ethnic identity should be presented. Currently their "Finnishness" is emphasized here quite a lot, but the thesis indicates some ambivalence about such an identification. Where are Ingrian Finns described as indigenous? Izhorians and Votians are for sure, but as the article states, Ingrian Finns were descended from 17th century migrants. -- Kapulakone (talk) 07:52, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
