ISCII Encoding for the Tibetan script
[edit]There was also an ISCII encoding developed for Tibetan script used in some software and fonts developed by CDAC. I know that ISCII based software applications were once used for Tibetan at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) in Sarnath, and some other Tibetan institutions in India - as well as by a couple of government departments in Bhutan for Dzongkha. (I once had a copy of a Tibetan ISCII input program and fonts from CDAC myself.) Unfortunately I don't have any references for this at hand, or I'd put a mention in the article. The first encoding of the Tibetan script in the Unicode (1.0) and ISO 10646 standards (later removed and then replaced) was based on this ISCII encoding. Cfynn (talk) 09:18, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
