Conquests of Inal the Great

[edit]

A new article Conquests of Inal the Great has been created, but needs a lot of work. Would anyone like to help? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:24, 2 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

real person?

[edit]

sorry for the confusion. 1. In problem paragraph "only oral tradition" gives him the same status as King Arthur or Achilles, but the rest of the article reads as if he were a real, well-documented person. "legendary" in line 2 is not sufficiently promenent and has a secondary meaning of 'famous". Throughout, it is not clear which statements are well-supported facts and which are guesses, traditions, or whatever. 2 In the problem paragraph " contemporary oral" does not make sense. Contemporary to what? (It was probably good in the original language.) Benjamin Trovato (talk) 11:12, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article should be re-written to reflect the academic publications about him, currently the "early life - rise to power - conquests - reforms - death" section reflects mainly Nogmov's accounts of Inal but is problematic to include it as a biography here. the historical inal and the legendary inal (nogmov's account) should be inspected as two different topics. the "dating of inal" section is about inal's historicity and is decent ATM but can be expanded. I am personally inclined to support Klarapoth & Khotko's opinion that he lived in the 12th or 13th century, but we can't push a certain view and instead explain what the major sources said about him. the current iteration of the page is pushing nogmov's theories.
