Question

[edit]

If this was under the Sasanian Empire, then shouldn't [Khusraw] Shadh Firuz be spelled as [Khusraw] Shadh Peroz, which is the non-Arabicized version of it. The same thing goes with Firuz Qubadh --> Peroz Kavadh. --HistoryofIran (talk) 13:07, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Probably, but as you well know, most of what we know about Sasanian Persia comes from later Arab sources, so this reflects the names found there. Consequently we should probably preserve the Arabicized forms in parentheses, or alternatively explain that these are arabicized forms and include the Persian ones in parentheses. Go ahead with whatever you prefer. Nice catch. Constantine 14:42, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Good idea, i will write the Middle Persian version of it, the meaning of the words, and then the Arabicized version of it. Thanks. --HistoryofIran (talk) 22:23, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
