Hello all, in the Unique and specialty hotels section may I suggest adding a paragraph for castle hotels?
Castle hotels:
Any castle or castle folly that offers overnight accommodation can be termed a castle hotel. The U.K. can be seen as the most popular place for a castle hotel stay, with Scotland having the majority at over 30. These properties will generally have historic interest and many offer historical lectures, guided tours etc. [1]
Notable castle hotels include Amberley Castle in West Sussex, England, Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, India [2], Scone Palace in Perthshire, Scotland, home of the Stone of Scone, and Ashford Castle, County Mayo, Ireland. [3]
Thank you. Jeulonew (talk) 12:00, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. You'll need reliable sources independent of castle hotels to demonstrate this is noteworthy. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 21:04, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
Long term residence
[edit]I am interested in learning what kind of facilities these long term residents had. There is no description of size, number of rooms, etc. They are rich and famous, so I assume it wasn’t a simple room with a separate bath. What was it? Some description please. The World's 50 Best Hotels
[edit]I removed this recently added section because I do not believe that what is an award by a single company, using anonymous people, and sourced to a single primary source, has a place in an article that is about hotels in general. Is this award recognised and widely used in the industry? What does it tell the reader about the article subject? Most of the content used was also a direct copy from the primary source, making it not only a copyright violation, but also promotional.
There may be a separate article that could be made of it, but I think it needs a better demonstration of notability and written in an encyclopaedic manner. Escape Orbit (Talk) 14:30, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- I'm concerned that the current version of the page still has an entry at the bottom of the "Other specialty hotels" section regarding the Rosewood Hong Kong, and a picture of the hotel in question. (My attention was originally drawn to this by the use of the word "triumphs" in the picture caption, which does not seem neutral). Upon examining the edit history, I'm concerned that this may be one editor's particular passion.
- Aside from anything else about this, I don't see how this hotel belongs in the listing of "Other specialty hotels," since there does not appear to be anything unusual about it.
- I'd appreciate perspective from more experienced editors. Finlara (talk) 15:29, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
Semi-Protected Edit Request Anyday
[edit]Can we make an edit to include the real modern day purpose of hotels?
“Hotels are no longer made for sleeping in. Often times having polyester bedding, political settings on the thermostat that prevent cooling, plastic on the mattresses that trap heat, so-called room darkening shades that are purposely installed incorrectly by illegal immigrants who never learned how to do anything right, and light that gleams in from the hallways to the doors. This new focus in the hotel industry is due to a renewed interest in hotels being an epicenter of environmentalism and leftism. The proponents believe that by trapping people in rooms in which they can’t sleep and are more likely to get into a fiery car wreck and die, that it would still be a carbon neutral event, even after all the carsmoke due to the energy saved with the political thermostat settings and reduced lifespan (or, human carbonspan). They are most often more adequate for human trafficking, botched surgeries, illegal barbershop work, drug operations centers, cryptocurrency mining rooms, sexwork, and other rendezvous. ~2026-43072-90 (talk) 00:18, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
