Bad English

[edit]

The following phrase has a problem, I don't know how to reword it. It's like 2 sentences badly combined:

though the bike has a low top speed and acceleration, they are prized for their high reliability and fuel economy make them ideal motorcycles. DaveDodgy (talk) 13:53, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's not exactly NPOV either, so go for two birds at once: use more sentences, and stick with citable facts.
By that I mean give the reader statements about the bike's performance, its long production run, and enthusiast groups. Let the reader conclude that the bike isn't fast & is popular, and make his/her own conclusions about why that is. How you arrange the facts in a paragraph, or in paragraphs, can help lead the reader to what you wish to get across.
Am I making sense? As wiki editors we can't make subjective statements like "ideal motorcycle". I tend to write something like your example as a draft remark, then use it as a type of map to show me what facts I need to expand and back up, and what opinions I need to jettison.
I just did an expansion of Honda CT series. You might want to dig through it for some citable figures. We could use more, but it's a start. CoffeeYesPlease (talk) 21:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

This version is not road-registerable in Australia

[edit]

The 2009 model CT110 AG is road-registerable in Australia: http://www.hondampe.com.au/repository/motorcycles/products/off-road/agricultural/ct110ag/introduction.aspx Swampy 60.228.58.152 (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Infobox from CT series page

[edit]

The infobox for this bike at the Honda CT series page has a lot more information than this one and I intended to move some of it over to this page, but the pertinent references for that infobox are in Japanese. I lack boldness, and am not sure if I should utilize those references since I can't understand them... But I'm going to do it anyway. I'm posting this to let people know there might be a problem, and that it'd be great if we could find some English references. The2crowrox (talk) 00:17, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

When I did the Honda CT series page I used two machine translators, and thought about the returned data. Any data that wasn't clear, wasn't used. I'm cautious. So I think you can sleep soundly. ;) CoffeeYesPlease (talk) 03:14, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pre-98 CT110AG Compliance

[edit]

The article states that pre-1998 the CT110AG lacked a compliance plate and could not be registered - there is no citation given for this claim and it appears to be factually incorrect. I own a road-registered (in Western Australia) 1983 AG model with the compliance plate & 11-digit VIN on the headstock & engine number all matching expectations against the current registration details.

There is also existing anecdotal evidence for other owners of registered pre-98 AG models within the first 2 pages of a google search, while all claims of early CT110AG's being un-registerable that I could find seem to quote this article, I could not find any other sources.

If the claim has any real references to cite, they should be added, otherwise the claim should be removed. 65.181.23.123 (talk) 06:38, 28 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
