Needs clarification

These two sentences seem illogical and are confusing:

"It is often spoken of polymers instead of plastics, since both terms are synonyms in the engineering-use. If the term high-performance thermoplastics is used, it is because both the standard and technical as well as high-performance plastics are always thermoplastics."

Here are my wild guesses: 1) "Polymers" and "plastics" are synonyms. 2) Standard, technical, and high-performance plastics are always thermoplastics. Cheers! --2602:306:CFCE:1EE0:3044:A2C3:2683:987B (talk) 08:49, 21 July 2018 (UTC)Doug BashfordReply
