[edit]"In the Orthodox Church, a man must be either married or have been tonsured a monk before he is eligible for ordination"; - I think this should be changed, it seems to read that one cannot be ordained if they are not married or a monk, not that they must marry before ordination.
- Agree. I couldn't figure out a way to tweak sentences, some of which were run-on. So I deleted some sentences and split others up. Does it read correctly now? Student7 (talk) 14:41, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
"In Western Christianity, a priest who is also a monk is termed a "religious priest" or "regular clergy", i.e., living under a monastic rule." The term "religious priest" or "regular clergy" is not just applied to monks or those living under a monastic rule, but anyone living under a rule. E.g. Franciscans and Jesuits are, if priests, "religious" or "regular" but are neither monks nor living under a monastic rule. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 02:22, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
