Election results

Recent deletion by User:BrownHairedGirl reverted. The idea of taking the election results out of the body of the article and placing them at the end of the article was a suggestion made by User:BrownHairedGirl, another editor's example of Neville Chamberlain was used. While I do not accept the premise that this detail overwhelms the article, I do not believe that many would accept that the tables overwhelm the article if they are at the bottom. I think it's time for an RFC on this splat-paste of data tables into biographical articles, when they are already in the constituency articles. This duplication of data serves little purpose. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 08:16, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

You have previously disagreed with other editors, including myself, about using tables in other articles, such as at Talk:Sir Ellis Ellis-Griffith, 1st Baronet. In that article you moved the tables to the end of the article. While I prefer to see the tables represented chronologically, I accepted your edit as a compromise. My edit to the Craig article followed that compromise. It is possible that you may have forgotten about that compromise when you deleted the tables to this article. I notice that on the same theme you have recently deleted the tables from other articles; Percy Alden, Stanley Buckmaster, 1st Viscount Buckmaster and Geoffrey Howard (Liberal politician) rather than moving them to the bottom as you had done in Sir Ellis Ellis-Griffith, 1st Baronet. I will leave it to you to decide if you wish to continue to adhere to your compromise solution. Graemp, as discussed at length before, per the MOS the tables do not belong in the text, because they disrupt the flow of the narrative. I will continue to remove them from any such situation.

I am unpersuaded that it is appropriate to have a section devoted to such tables, and will not create any such section. However, if you want to create such a section, you may of course do so. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 11:32, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
