Recent reversion
[edit]I reverted the last edit without completing my explanation. The first letter in "heir" is not pronounced, so the word begins with a vowel sound, which determines that the indefinite article is "an". J S Ayer (talk) 22:35, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

Saudi Arabia
[edit]Succession to the Saudi throne is subject to the whim of the king, rather than anything approaching automatic as in the monarchies of Europe; so I question whether the term "heir apparent" is meaningful there. —Tamfang (talk) 05:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
