Hagiographic tone

[edit]

The previous versions were much too hagiographic & PR-like in tone. The purpose of wikipedia is to present 'just the facts' and not to be a PR-medium for a person or organisation. The main editor of this page, Allison Van Etten, is a music publicist. Any editors on wikipedia need to be aware of this standard disclaimer:

"....if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

"All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible." I also think the claim that she was the youngest person ever admitted to KNUA, despite the China Daily reference making that claim, is a bit suspect, though I fully accept that she may have been one of the younger ones. I know that double bassist Mikyung Sung went to KNUA straight after middle school, never attending high school, and I doubt she was even 15 when she entered. I think similar may be true of pianist Jongyun Kim, a contemporary of Mikyung's who enrolled at KNUA one year after starting high school. Matthew Vaughan (talk) 16:23, 12 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
