Somerton's second apology video

[edit]

I previously added a line in the Somerton section about the second apology video he uploaded (and deleted a day or so later), but my initial source was considered unreliable (fair), so I replaced it with the Citation Needed thingie. It was brought to my attention that's not the right way to go about it. So I was wondering if someone here has a reliable source for this. Due to more recent events, it's become quite difficult to find sources about the second apology video. CrimsonRainFlower (talk) 15:53, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Use of the word "staged"

[edit]

The following line is present in the last line of the James Somerton section: "On 5 March 2024, Somerton staged an apparent suicide note for his social media, sparking concern; however he was later confirmed to be safe on 11 March by Kat Lo, an editor and producer who works with Brewis."

The source that was cited here does not state that the note was staged. All that is said in the source is that Kat Lo, Harry's editor, said that Somerton was alive and physically well after the note was posted. She did not feel comfortable disclosing more. This does not mean that it was staged; it just means that James did not end up doing what he said he would in the note, which could be for a variety of reasons.

The language in the above quote does not appear to be accurate, nor is it as neutral as it should be. It extrapolates from available information to come to conclusions about Somerton's intentions which may or may not be accurate. This line should be changed to contain a less accusatory phrasing. Alternatively, it's possible that the quote was accurate, but the information contained within was not in the source they cited. If this is the case, a new source with that info should be added. PretzelDinosaur (talk) 03:54, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding birthplace

[edit]

The article Hailfax states that he was born there. Can anyone confirm? Haroldfrom (talk) 13:20, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

on the image

[edit]

this is more of a matter of personal opinion than anything, but what are the current stances on updating his infobox image to one that doesn't precede his case of no hair-itis? consarn (talck) (contirbuton s) 17:20, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

No objections if we can get one that's properly licensed. LaffyTaffer💬(she/they) 17:42, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Somerton

[edit]

"In addition to the plagiarism accusations, another YouTuber, Todd in the Shadows, released a separate video soon after Brewis's where he fact-checked Somerton and debunked claims he made about queer culture and other topics."

Is this necessary information? Isn´t this part on Somerton a bit much information in an encyclopedia, I mean this is supposed to be an article about hbomberguy. He wouldn´t like this focus on an individual situation, I guess. It borders to bullying. Also the article is missing out a lot of different critiques, like the golden one or Ben Shapiro or the climate and vaccine deniers etc. pp..

And should hbomb really redirect to hbommberguy instead of hydrogen bomb. He obviously referred to them when he named himself, I am sure. ~2026-38473-78 (talk) 17:26, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
