Spelling

[edit]

I believe this is actually Hatfield Chace, not Hatfield Chase. Can anyone cast any light - e.g. by looking at old maps or other documents

Whether or not it was once Chace, it is now Chase. All of the sources spell it Chase, as do the 2009, 1947, 1923, 1904 and 1893 Ordnance Survey maps. The 1824 OS map is inconclusive, as it does not contain either spelling. Bob1960evens (talk) 23:06, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
The pub in Hatfield is still called Hatfield Chace. It’s Chace, not Chase, regardless of stated sources ~2026-41475-39 (talk) 10:59, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Assessment

[edit]
  • Suitably referenced, with inline citations
  • Reasonable coverage - no obvious omissions or inaccuracies
  • Defined structure, with adequate lead
  • Reasonably well written for grammer and flow
  • Supporting materials - Infobox, map, images, POI table
  • Appropriately understandable

I am rating this as C for the moment. The lead needs expanding to reach a B. Bob1960evens (talk) 11:30, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lead now expanded and infobox added. Now rated B. Bob1960evens (talk) 20:11, 9 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
