Notability

[edit]

"On Wikipedia, notability is a test used by editors to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article." Is this guy really that notable? He is wide known only because he f... a princess. None of his other achievements in his professional career or his private life is significant enough to justify an article. 193.52.24.38 (talk) 06:48, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree he is only well known because of his two-year relationship with Princess Diana. His other achievements alone would not make him notable enough to warrant an article. However, Notability on Wikipedia doesn't require professional achievement. Public interest—especially lasting interest—can be enough. His relationship with Diana has been referenced in books, documentaries, and dramatizations like The Crown, which speaks to cultural relevance. While it's not a "grand achievement," it does meet the notability threshold in my opinion. --Arg Matey (talk) 01:36, 15 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
