Artificial pollination redirects here

[edit]

So artificial pollination redirects to this page. However this page doesn't seem to be about that. Note that artificial pollination includes pollination by microdrones such as the Materially Engineered Artificial Pollinators. Hence I suggest to either move this page and expand its contents or to create a new article artificial pollination.

Also note that the lead says Hand pollination (also called "mechanical pollination") but aren't those two terms contradictory? Mechanical pollination is not pollination by hand.

Shouldn't this be under "other mammals" for zoophily?

[edit]

A plant that has become dependent on humans for pollination could be said to exhibit zoöphily, with its favoured animal being humans. Usually they are already zoöphilous and we've just extinguished their natural pollinators.

Obviously Wikipedia is not the place to break this ground, but if it gets broken somewhere else, it feels wrong not to include this there. Ellenor2000 (talk) 21:41, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
