Species name needs more investigation
[edit]The Plant List and Flora of China differ as to whether the correct name of the species is H. caspica or H. belangeriana. That needs further investigation. The validation of Halostachys caspica C. A. Meyer ex Schrenk in Bulletin de la Class Physico-Mathematique de l'Academie Imperiale des Sciences de Saint-Pétersbourg. St. Petersburg, sér. 2. 1: 361. 1843, as listed by Flora of China seems to be the important document, but I don't have access to it. In the meantime, I've taken a guess that Flora of China is correct and The Plant List is simply unaware of that document. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 21:12, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
- Halostachys belangerianum (based on Arthrocnemum belangerianum Moq., 1840) is correct. Halostachys caspica (Pall.) C.A.Mey. ex Schrenk is validly published in 1843 and based on a nom. illeg. Further info on wikispecies --Thiotrix (talk) 15:48, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
