[edit]I looked this up after seeing some interesting pix on Flickr:
What I found was apparently a translation by a non-English-speaker, with many awkward constructions. I revised and streamlined it in English syntax.
This piece is completely unsourced, and the bit about Elizabeth of Wied seems dubious. It's not mentioned in either the English or German Wiki articles about her. Further, Romania, of which she was queen consort, was on the Allied side in WWI, and her visit is supposed to have occurred in the middle of that war. Sca (talk) 15:11, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
