- Disappointingly, this article omits the most important aspect of the subject, which is characterized in the quotation Wehwalt alludes to above. That is, a "greasy pole" is a metaphor for any situation where one must work hard just to stay in place, even harder to advance, & if one pauses for even a moment then she/he will slip behind. Some things should be in the main article for them
[edit]Greasy_pole#Gloucester,_Massachusetts has a massive amount of information about the event, which should be at St. Peter's Fiesta. Odd the article about the event is currently shorter than the section about it here. I was thinking a brief mention of it here, and then the rest of that put over there. Does everyone agree?
