Is 0 value at lattice points an artifact?

"An artifact of some implementations of this noise is that the returned value at the lattice points is 0."
It looks more of a feature for Perlin noise:
- "the noise function will pass through 0 at every node, giving Perlin noise its characteristic look"

The only artifact seems to be "directional" ones:
- "visually-significant directional artifacts"
