Age at death, date of birth

Someone has just changed Gurung's birth date in the infobox from a day in 1939 to one in 1935, but left it as 1939 in the lead. At a glance in Google, sources with 1939 have contrived URLs and I'm guessing they're parroting what's here; a couple that seem possibly independent say 1935. In addition, I see his age at death in 2016 given as 80 or 81, which would eliminate 1939 as the correct year of birth. Can we get this straightened out? The source here (which is used in the Early life section) is an interview, in which he says that he was born on 22 Mansir, 1996, a Vikram Samvat date that corresponds to 7 December 1939. Maybe there are other sources that are more reliable, though? I have changed the dates in the infobox for now, since we do have a source for that, but I am not claiming that I know it is the best source to use. --bonadea contributions talk 10:51, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Oppose - MNO has been around for a long while, and the present article doesn't fully reflect that. MNO notable on its own, and merging with article of an individual politician is to no benefit neither for Wikipedia nor its readers. --Soman (talk) 13:10, 24 January 2026 (UTC)

Notability is determined based on the guidelines at WP:Notability, including WP:GNG. If it meets WP:GNG, then both longevity and whether they've ever been successful in an election are irrelevant. Largoplazo (talk) 17:53, 24 January 2026 (UTC)

They do have coverage, but all of it seems to be about them contesting elections or leadership changes. I would argue that similar to candidates not being notable for just contesting elections, political parties being successful should be a relevant criteria. If not, I am fine with the page as it is.
