GPS is just one subtype of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and many others are supported by today's smart phones. A smart phone application might not have any control over which positioning satellite system is used. It probably happens at the operating system level.

That sentence could perhaps be more technology agnostic. And what about "abnormally"? It could use a very rough location based on the cell towers or Wi-Fi, but that's not accurate enough for navigation. 213.139.166.122 (talk) 07:31, 6 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
