yes, both are different from each other bcz Gihara गिहारा समाज are migrants from Rajasthan, who went into diaspora after the war in Haldighati. This gave birth to their modern name in their language, Ghar harna or Greh hara ("we lost in war") slowly corrupted into Gihara (गिहारा). Our language is derived from Persian. The traditional trades of the people are clothing trading, artisan work
Kanjars कंजर are a nomadic, denotified tribe historically associated with entertainment and crafts, and their name has been stigmatized and weaponized as an insult.
Our community has legally contested the use of the term "Kanjar" in caste certificates, securing court notices that the correct term should be Gihara samaj 160.202.38.115 (talk) 16:32, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
