While I personally dislike the atomization of dishes groups just because in country A or region B a pinch of whatnot needs to be added, I wish to point out that the "German fries" article features a fundamental error in the introduction by wrongly quoting its source. Potatoes are not sliced into "any sizes and shapes", the source states the contrary. I'll correct that with a Henriette Davidis citation in a minute.
