Hello, are there proves of his Italian origins? In Peter Charanis. Nope he does not have Armenian origins nor Italian. In Norse sagas and in the sources provided he is described as Greek. Othon I (talk) 22:51, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Since when are Norse Sagas considered valid points of reference for origin? Nordic people probably identified him as Greek because he was a Byzantine general. Charanis, a noted scholar of Byzantine Empire, claims he's of Armenian origin. I have accordingly added his source to the references. Dan149 Dan149 (talk) 15:50, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
