Suggested changes to ‘General Accident – History

[edit]

We are from the communications team at General Accident at Aviva and would like to suggest some changes to the ‘History’ section of the Wikipedia article.

The content within this section could now be changed to reflect the update to our business operations: WP:NPOV

Additional paragraph 1: General Accident brand re-introduced

Aviva plc reintroduced the General Accident brand in April 2013. The new General Accident brand is aimed at customers who use car insurance price comparison sites

The article by Post Magazine is behind paywall, but the information is verifiable by other sources found here. I think the update is factual, informative and non-problematic. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 15:21, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
I disagree. The article is somewhat confusing as it does not discriminate between 'General Accident', a brand name, and 'General Accident' a common contraction of General Accident Fire and Life Assurance Corporation. The article is really about the latter, now owned by Aviva. The proposed addition is about the former, a brand which happens also to be owned by Aviva. As I understand it the recently reintroduced 'General Accident' motor insurance is not written by GAFLAC but by Aviva[1] so any mention of it should be in the Aviva article not the General Accident article.
