Same diff?

[edit]

This article doesn't make it very clear exactly what the difference is between fusuma and shoji. If someone well-educated in Japanese architecture could provide historical/traditional/architectuaral/aesthetic/practical differences between the two, this article could be greatly improved. Also, this article should probably be expanded. If it can't be, then maybe it should be merged with the shoji article. 72.39.148.218 (talk) 03:28, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've added in the main difference, that shōji are translucent compared to fusuma. The Japanese Wikipedia entries keep both pages separate (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%A5%96 Fusuma) and (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%9A%9C%E5%AD%90 Shōji), so we should keep the English Wikipedia entries separate as well. There is a lot of content on both Japanese pages, someone just needs to translate them to the English pages. -BoatSnack (talk) 14:16, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
