The "Provisions of the law" section content "The New Jersey law shifted control of the regulation of waterways from the federal to the state government." (that is not sourced), may be confusing. State regulations are important (maybe more so since the release of headlines "E.P.A. Blocks Obama-Era Clean Water Rule") for palustrine wetlands. "Note": there are exceptions, 1)- Hackensack Meadowlands Development Commission (New Jersey Meadowlands Commission) and the New Jersey Pinelands Commission.

The "Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act" extends protection, beforehand provided only to coastal wetlands, to inland waterways and wetlands.

I think the NJ FWPA "extends" protection but "shifted control of the regulation" may not be accurate, again lacking sourcing. Otr500 (talk) 19:25, 20 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
